- Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources (market data, weather reports, grid conditions, production schedules) to inform trading decisions.
- Market Analysis: Monitor real-time power market activity, analyze price dynamics, and identify key supply-demand and transmission factors impacting market behavior.
- Trading Support: Assist traders in executing strategies across energy markets; track positions, exposure, and performance.
- Research: Conduct fundamental and quantitative analyses of power markets, including price forecasting, congestion trends, and regulatory or policy impacts.
- Reporting & Insights: Prepare daily and weekly reports summarizing market developments, portfolio performance, and trading opportunities.
- Collaboration: Partner with traders, risk management, and operations teams to improve analytical workflows and trading efficiency.
- Required Qualifications:
- Academic: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a STEM field, Economics/Financial Economics, Finance, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Skills: Strong market, fundamental and quantitative analytical skills; proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Interest in Energy Markets: Passion for electricity markets, renewable energy trends, and trading strategies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex data clearly.
- Teamwork: Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced trading environment.
