Operation Settlement Analyst/Manager

Located: Princeton, NJ | Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented ISO/RTO Settlement Analyst with junior to mid-level experience to join our Mid-Office/Back-Office operations team. The ideal candidate has several years of experience with exchange settlement processes and exposure to ISO/RTO markets, preferably within FTR, energy marketing, trading, or power market operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate settlements, validating complex market data, supporting PnL transparency, and helping maintain strong commercial controls across our trading and scheduling activities.


  • Key Responsibilities
    • Perform day-to-day settlement activities across ISO/RTO markets (e.g., PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP, NYISO, ISO-NE).
    • Process and reconcile FTR settlements, including auction revenue rights (ARR), congestion rents, credit calculations, and contract settlement flows.
    • Validate and reconcile ISO invoices, identifying discrepancies and working with internal teams and ISOs to resolve settlement issues.
    • Support exchange settlement processes, including daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation for cleared trades (ICE, CME, Nodal Exchange, etc.).
    • Monitor settlement variances, investigate root causes, and escalate issues as needed.
    • Collaborate with Front-Office, Risk, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate PnL reporting and position data.
    • Assist with automation, process improvements, and controls enhancement to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
    • Maintain high-quality records, documentation, and adherence to compliance requirements.
    • Support ad-hoc projects including reporting, system enhancements, data cleanup, and market rule updates.

  • Required Qualifications
    • BS or MS in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Business, Economics, or a closely related quantitative or operational discipline.
    • 4–7 years of experience in ISO settlement, exchange settlement, energy trading operations, or similar back-office/mid-office roles.
    • Strong understanding of ISO/RTO settlement structures, charge types, FTR/CRR processes, or congestion/auction mechanics.
    • Hands-on experience with exchange-cleared products settlement (ICE, CME, Nodal, etc.).
    • Proficiency with Excel; exposure to SQL, Python, or data tools a plus.
    • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment.
    • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise across technical and commercial teams.

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with power trading or FTR portfolios.
    • Familiarity with risk systems, ETRM software, or custom settlement tools.
    • Exposure to power flow, congestion concepts, or locational marginal pricing (LMP) fundamentals.
    • Prior experience supporting process automation or workflow improvement.
