- Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Actively communicate with different departments (Trading, Risk, Operations, etc.) to audit their daily workflows and identify how IT infrastructure can better support their goals.
- Proactive Prevention Projects: Instead of “firefighting,” you will analyze system trends and user feedback to design and organize projects aimed at preventing IT outages and performance lags.
- Process Mapping: Document and optimize inter-departmental IT request flows to reduce friction and improve response transparency.
- Strategic Technical Support: Provide hands-on support for server management, cloud configuration (AWS/Azure), and network security, but with a focus on “User Experience” and long-term stability.
- Internal Advocacy: Translate complex technical constraints into clear business impacts for non-technical stakeholders, and vice-versa.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Participate in server management, identity management, and data center operations with an eye toward automation and “self-healing” systems.
- Qualifications
- Education: Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a dual-degree/minor in Business Administration (MBA), Management, or Communications. We highly value candidates who can balance technical rigor with administrative insight.
- Proactive Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a “customer-first” mindset. You must be comfortable walking up to a different desk to ask, “How can we make your workflow smoother?”
- Analytical & Preventive Mindset: Ability to see the “big picture” and design systems that stop problems before they occur.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in coding (e.g., Python) for automation.
- Basic understanding of networking (VPN, TCP/IP, DNS) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker, Jenkins, or Terraform for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and version control (Git).
- Basic knowledge of database (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) operation, database optimization and administration, SQL experience.
- Experience or familiarity with penetration testing or vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Nmap) to identify security gaps and improve defenses is a plus.
- Bonus: Experience in trading/financial systems or a history of “Home Lab” projects that demonstrate self-driven curiosity.
